The Bothy is a beautifully renovated stone cottage where rustic charm meets modern convenience. Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to make your stay as relaxing as possible — whether you’re here for a weekend escape or a longer adventure.
Relaxing, spacious bedrooms
So many guests say they have never slept as well as they do at The Bothy – the fresh air, high quality mattresses and dark skies combine to create the ultimate relaxing break.
Step-free shower room
Luxurious “Scottish Fine Soaps” toiletries, large towels and a heated towel rail make every shower a luxurious experience. The wet-room style shower is easier for guests with difficulty stepping into shower cubicles.
Fully Equipped Kitchen
The aim is that you never feel you are missing something from your kitchen at home – the freezer has ice ready for your G&T, the pans are non-stick AND dishwasher safe, there is a cafetiere and stovetop espresso maker
Patio, BBQ and Garden
The Garden bedroom opens onto a patio overlooking the bird feeder and gardens. The table and chairs are perfect for breakfast, or unwinding with a drink as the sun sets over the trees. In the cooler months this area can still be enjoyed with the cosy blankets provided.
Relax & unwind
After a day cycling, walking or visiting castles (or shops!) relax in front of the wood burning stove, snuggle with your dogs and plan tomorrows’ adventures.

“Absolute gem of a cottage. Really close to the motorway but feels a million miles away, surrounded by beautiful woodland. Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Kitchen particularly well stocked. Beds soft and cosy. Karen was kind

“Thanks to Karen for a really relaxing few days. We were looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful but within an easy drive of Moffat, and the cottage fitted the bill exactly. Lots of thought and care has gone into the cottage. Loved the detailed instructions…and the biscuit selection. The kitchen is well equipped, though we ate in Moffat each evening so didn’t need to use it too much. Comfortable beds, good shower. The sloped access to the front door was great for my elderly mother!”
